Levels
In any discipline the “fundamentals” make the difference. When you have mastered the fundamentals, then dancing becomes effortless and fun for you and your partner. How many classes are needed to become an intermediate dance student? There is no general answer to this question. It depends on many factors that include: dance background and experience, time dedicated to practice and review, and individual characteristics. It is very important that your instructor agrees with you when to attend a certain level of class. Please have confidence and respect for your instructor’s knowledge and experience as to what level is appropriate for you. If you feel that the class you are attending is not helping you to improve your dance, please share this feeling with your instructors. Private classes are a good alternative.
If you are coming for the first time to our class
If you are coming for the first time to our class we strongly suggest you take the Fundamentals & technique class in addition to any other class you want to take (intermediate/advanced). It will help you, the other students attending the class and us, that you understand our principles and teaching language.
When you have made several of our beginner classes and want to go for the next level, we strongly recommend you to keep taking the beginner class in addition to our intermediate class. It will work as a review and warm-up class for you, and for us, it will help us to know where to continue with you at the next level class. Remember that you are in a group class and that we teach many other students. You have to help us to help you in our mutual goal of making you a good tango dancer.
